Weiss, MD, MPH completed a residency at UCLA - San Fernando Valley psychiatry program after earning a doctor of medicine degree at Boston University School of Medicine . Prior to that, she earned her MPH in population, family, and international health at UCLA, and a BA degree in Scandinavian Languages at UCLA.    

Dr. Weiss has been Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 1990, and in 2015 became a Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

Dr. Weiss is trained in hypnotherapy, as well as in Hypoanalysis, a technique of using hypnosis in the practice of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy.  

Dr. Weiss emphasizes psychotherapy in her practice of psychiatry, as she allies in her treatment with the whole person. 

She has been named as Top Doctors - L.A. Area in 2013 and Top Doctors - Southern California in 2012. Among other organizations, Dr. Weiss is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Southern California Psychiatric Association, the Los Angeles County Medical Association, and the American Academy of Medical Hypnoanalysts.
